The Blitz Duathlon was founded by Chistine Caddell and Trishia Kawahara of Blitz Timing.  The ladies brainstormed a unique athletic experience that transitioned athletes from off-road to tarmac.  It’s reputation has grown over the past ten years as a great event for new and seasoned athletes looking to combine running with cycling in beautiful Kananaskis Country.

The event was purchased in 2018 by Tom Bamford of Platinum Racing.  Tom fell in love with the sport as a teenager, entering his first race in 1989.  The former race director of the 1994 National Championships he looks forward to book-ending a career as a software entrepreneur with producing world-class multisport events for all ages and abilities.  As an age-group triathlete Tom has qualified for World Championships at the ITU Olympic, ITU Long Course, Ironman 70.3 & XTERRA distances.
