YOUR RACE EXPERIENCE INCLUDES:

60km Cycle – Loop the Lake / 100km Cycle – Loop the Valley
Loop the Lake or go long to Canal Flats and back. The Gran Fondo Cycling Event on Sunday runs in tandem with our other events but has a unique course profile with sweeping vistas of Lake Windermere and Columbia Lake. The Gran Fondo starts beside the triathlon bike transition at Kinsmen Beach Park (Tennis Courts).
Aid station for 60km Loop located at the 30km mark.
Aid stations for 100km Loop are located at the 50km & 70km marks.
WARNING – Although this is a timed event, not a race. Traffic control is available in the town of Invermere but riders must yield to highway traffic on course and all turn points. Volunteer flagmen will be on course warning riders of traffic hazards.
Parking
Designated parking is available north of start/finish park by tennis courts and ball diamonds.
Post Race Festivities
Food and refreshments will be available at the finish line. The awards ceremony will be held at approximately 11:15 AM or as soon as results are complete in Kinsmen Beach. Awards for top 3 overall in each distance male/female.

Sunday, July 21, 2024 – Kinsmen Beach Park (just south of tennis courts).
7:00am Late arrivals package pickup at Start/Finish park.
7:00am Timing chip pickup
7:30am Gran Fondo 60km & 100km mass start
11:15am Post Race awards ceremonies & prizes (top 3 overall male/female)
12:00pm Gran Fondo course closes
Course
60km Route
Mass start, north on 4th Ave, then turn left on 4th ST, left on 7th Ave, right on 15th St, right on 8th Ave and then left on 13th Ave. Ride up the hill through town with flaggers controlling traffic and left at the four-way stop on to 13th ST. Ride south on Westside Road until HWY 95 and return. The aid station at the turn will be stocked with Glyco-Durance, Water and gels. Watch for traffic as you turn home.
100km Route
Mass start, north on 4th Ave, then turn left on 4th ST, left on 7th Ave, right on 15th St, right on 8th Ave and then left on 13th Ave. Ride up the hill through town with flaggers controlling traffic and left at the four-way stop on to 13th ST. Ride south on Westside Road until HWY for the first aid station stocked with Glyco-Durance, Water and gels. Turn right on HWY 95 and travel south. When you reach Canal Flats, turn left on to Burns Ave (yield to traffic), right on to Grainger Road, left on Cut Off Road and then right on to HWY 95 to return. Your second aid station will be available at the turn. Note that you must yield to traffic on Westside Road, HWY 95 and Canal Flats. Return north on HWY 95 and then left on Westside Road (aid station). Follow the same route back to Kinsmen Beach.
