Blitz Run-bike-run Duathlons offer a unique multisport experience. Our on-road/off-road course challenges participants from the first timer to seasoned athlete alike. You can race solo or team up to cover the distance with a team or our TriTogether Wave. Platinum Racing offers six Duathlon events in 2020 around the province.
The race starts at our transition zone at the Snowy Owl picnic site in North Glenmore Park. The 5km run takes you along paved and off-road trails down into Weaselhead Flats. Upon returning to transition zone you walk your bike to the mount/dismount line and continue on to a four lap clockwise loop through North Glenmore Park and 66th Ave SW. The second run repeats the first (yes you climb that hill again). Runners pass four aid stations on each 5km run. There will be plenty of refreshments and food at the finish.

You can park in the two parking lots adjacent to our Start/Finish/Transition.
You will start under the start/finish arch. After returning from your first run, return beside the arch into the bike transition zone (bike racks). Do up your helmet and walk your bike to the mount/dismount line to begin the bike leg.
TEAMS: Upon finishing the first run, simply “tag” your cyclist teammate at the bike rack. Cyclists then un-rack bike and proceed to the mount line to begin the cycle portion. Upon returning from the bike, cyclists dismount and return to the rack and tag their runner teammate. No transfer of bib number or timing chip is required.
Run 1 & Run 2
The first and second 5km run legs leave transition on paved paths west bound. Runners move onto single track trails down into Weaselhead flats, complete a loop and return up the hill and back to transition.

Cyclists walk their bikes to the mount/dismount lines (helmets buckled!). Ride west along North Glenmore Park Road and turn right onto 66 Ave. Continue eastbound until Crowchild trail 4-way top (controlled) and turn right. Complete 4 laps, dismount and return bike to transition before completing your second run.
