Heart Of The Rockies Gran Fondo Race Details

The race starts and finishes at Kinsman Beach. The park (indicated on the map by the “red heart“) is located just south of the intersection at Laurier Street on 3rd Avenue and consists of large washrooms, picnic areas, and beach area. Lake Windermere Pointe Resort and many restaurants are located nearby. Transition and the race finish all take place in the two paved parking lots near the washroom facilities. (See transition map)

Please note that dogs are not allowed in Kinsman Beach
60km Route
Mass start, north on 4th Ave, then turn left on 4th ST, left on 7th Ave, right on 15th St, right on 8th Ave and then left on 13th Ave. Ride up the hill through town with flaggers controlling traffic and left at the four-way stop on to 13th ST. Ride south on Westside Road until HWY 95 and return. The aid station at the turn will be stocked with Glyco-Durance, Water and gels. Watch for traffic as you turn home.
100km Route
Mass start, north on 4th Ave, then turn left on 4th ST, left on 7th Ave, right on 15th St, right on 8th Ave and then left on 13th Ave. Ride up the hill through town with flaggers controlling traffic and left at the four-way stop on to 13th ST. Ride south on Westside Road until HWY for the first aid station stocked with Glyco-Durance, Water and gels. Turn right on HWY 95 and travel south. When you reach Canal Flats, turn left on to Burns Ave (yield to traffic), right on to Grainger Road, left on Cut Off Road and then right on to HWY 95 to return. Your second aid station will be available at the turn. Note that you must yield to traffic on Westside Road, HWY 95 and Canal Flats. Return north on HWY 95 and then left on Westside Road (aid station). Follow the same route back to Kinsmen Beach.
